A 1987 Schering Mortar & Pestle - Andrew Craigie - First US Apothecary General . This is the 25 th M&P in the Schering Mortar & Pestle Series which started in 1963. The pestle does belong to this mortar and is marked with the name Schering. The metal used is a white metal alloy and not brass or bronze. It is very heavy. The mortar measures about 4 3/8 inches tall and the pestle measures just over 5 1/2 inches long.
